WHAT TO POST ON SOCIAL MEDIA TO ATTRACT YOUR IDEAL CLIENTS
“How can I attract my ideal clients on social media when I don’t even know what to post!”
Does this sound like you? Hands up high so I can see them because some of y’all are a few thousand miles away.
When you don’t know what to post on social media there’s 2 different things you’re likely to do…
Disclaimer: I used to do these things too so if you’re guilty of either, then fear not because there’s no judgement here!
1. You might post a selfie or a quote you saved from google images with a generic one-line caption like “Feeling good today”.
I’ll give you brownie points for showing up and posting something but unfortunately this something isn’t going to attract ideal clients to your business.
It’s generic. Vanilla.
Anyone could post this.
People will scroll on past and you’ll just get lost in the algorithm abyss.
2. Option 2, the most likely option, is that when you don’t know what to post you just don’t post anything at all!
Writer’s block is real even on social media but instead of trying to come up with a post that could (but probably won’t) go viral, you need to shift your focus to delivering value.
You are an expert at what you do and there are people out there who need your help so go out and help them through your content!
But what does value mean when it comes to social media?
If you want to attract your ideal clients on social medeia, there’s a few boxes you need to tick every single time you post. Make sure that you tick at least 1 on every post!
- Your post is educational
- Your post is motivational, inspirational or empowering
- Your post is entertaining
- Your post provides a solution to a problem your ideal client is facing that they can take away
PS. A bonus tip if you really are stuck for post ideas is to ask your audience!
Sometimes I use the question sticker or polls on my Instagram stories to help me decide which topic to talk about on my next post.
Fun fact: this is how I came up with the idea to write this blog!
Facebook also has a poll feature but you can make a post on any platform to ask your audience what they need help with the most right now.
Tailoring your social media posts to your audience like this means that you’re giving your audience exactly what they want and need.
This is exactly where your audience’s trust in you begins to develop!
Show them consistently that you are an expert and that you want to use your expertise to help them, and they’ll keep coming back for more and more! Then when the time comes, buying from you is a no-brainer!
